If you are representing the public you should represent everyone not just some little niche and be answerable to everyone, what you are going to do because let’s face it, you have your agenda and have already made up your minds is total BS, if Māori want to be represented more on council then they should get off backsides and stand in the same electorate as everyone else and have policies that reach out to the public at large as there are many ethnicities that make up this city the same criteria should apply as for every other candidate, with the ward setup for council, councilors can make decisions and not be answerable to everyone who they may affect that is not democracy and by adding a race based ward you also add racism, the question is how racist are you?
The Council will hear verbal submissions on Tuesday 9 October 2021. Do you want to speak about your submission at this meeting?
